Visitar el mercado de Otavalo, el mercado de artesanía más grande de Sudamérica, es algo que no te puedes perder; ya que es el mejor sitio de Quito para interactuar con la animosa población indígena de Ecuador. Encontrarás galerías de arte, sombrererías, tiendas de artesanía y docenas de cafés en la adoquinada Calle de la Ronda.

Deportes y aire libre

Juega un partido de fútbol en el Parque Metropolitano Guanguiltagua, el parque urbano más grande de Sudamérica. Haz senderismo por las frondosas montañas de Quito, o rafting por los rápidos del río Quijos. Anima a alguno de los seis equipos profesionales de fútbol de la ciudad y asiste a una ceremoniosa corrida de toros durante el festival anual.

Ocio y vida nocturna

La mayor parte de la vida nocturna de Quito gira en torno al barrio de Mariscal, en la zona moderna de la ciudad. Empieza las tardes en la Plaza El Quinde, donde podrás comer y beber al aire libre junto a los habitantes de la ciudad, antes de ir a bailar a la discoteca.

Top matadores (bullfighters) from Peru, Latin America and Spain compete in the annual Quito Bullfighting Fair in the Plaza de Toros bullring. The matador, picadors and other figures inside the bullring all wear elegant finery from the sport's golden age.
